Here are some of my favorite ways to find events related to the Portuguese language:
Community Kangaroo
Community Kangaroo is a third-party website that groups events from library calendars and other sources. You can choose a region, then search for “Portuguese” in the search bar.
For example, in May 2026, besides my events at the Somerville Public Library, you could find:
- Stoneham Library: Bilingual Storytime with Esther Gomez – Português
- Reading Public Library – Bilingual Storytime in English and Portuguese
- Woburn Public Library – Portuguese Fun Program
You can always contact your local libraries and ask for more programs in Portuguese!
Local communities
- Did you know the City of Somerville have dedicated resources in Portuguese? Follow their newsletter or social media for Portuguese resources: Cidade De Somerville | Instagram, E-mail newsletter, Facebook, YouTube
- The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers has a calendar and newsletter you can follow!
Follow artists
When you find a program you like, you can ask the presenter if they host events elsewhere, or follow them on social media.
